On the Internet anyone can present themselves as they want, writing false information and uploading somebody else’s photos. In this case it’s much easier for an abuser to make friends with a potential victim. Usually, the victims of abusers are children or young people who are used to thinking that it can happen with somebody else but not with them personally. To break this stereotype the Novopolotsk City organization of the public association “Belarusian Women Union” in cooperation with Youth’s Health Center “Dialogue” created a new social public announcement aimed at promotion of safe and responsible behavior of children and young people in cyberspace.

The social public announcement is being broadcast on the local channel.

The initiative was implemented within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Strengthening the National Capacity of the Republic of Belarus in the Sphere of Combating Trafficking in Human Beings” jointly implemented by IOM Minsk and MoI of the Republic of Bealrus with financial support of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
